Call for Executive Committee Members

Physiotherapy Research Society – Committee member vacancy advertisement

The Physiotherapy Research Society (PRS) would like to advertise the position of committee member beginning in August 2018. Two positions are available due to previous committee members having completed their tenure. A committee post lasts 3 years, extendable by another tenure. The PRS is a professional network of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. It was started over 20 years ago with the remit of promoting physiotherapy research in the UK. Its primary function is the running of an annual conference. The conference provides an important opportunity for physiotherapists and other health professionals to disseminate their research to a mixed audience of clinicians, academics and students. With the new committee instituted in April 2017, we are planning to expand our activities and therefore the post holder will be able to influence future direction of the committee and physiotherapy research agenda.

Along with a keen interest in physiotherapy research, we are looking for members to bring in additional skills such as business management, leadership, change management or marketing. The individual does not require a PhD or extensive research experience.

The post requires time commitment of about 2 hours per month along with attendance at semi-annual meeting and the annual one day conference.

This is an honorary position though reasonable expenses for attending meetings and other activities will be reimbursed.

If interested, please email an application to the chair of the PRS, Dr. Devdeep Ahuja, to devdeepahuja (at) gmail (dot) com by 5 July 2018. The application should consist of a 2 page CV and a 300 word summary of why you would like to be a committee member and what you feel you could contribute to the PRS.
